Detector for Advanced Characterization using a Versatile X-ray setup

This project explores a wide range of condensed matter physics, from the study of self-assembled gold nanoparticles and nanotubes (or their precursors) to quantum materials with strongly correlated electrons, such as multiferroics and superconductors. These research areas have diverse applications in the short and long term, including the development of resistant, biocompatible, or eco-friendly materials with low energy consumption for information technologies. On the technical side, the project focuses on measuring the mechanical and structural properties of these materials using a versatile X-ray diffraction setup. This advanced experimental system allows researchers to study materials under varying temperature and pressure conditions, whether in powder or small single-crystal form. It can analyze structures at different size scales, ranging from a few angstroms to several tens of nanometers.
