A new call for participation in the Paroles de Chercheuses et Chercheurs programme has just been launched.

This initiative, launched by the Île-de-France Region in 2020 and renewed in 2023, offers original and participatory conferences led by researchers in secondary schools in the Île-de-France region.

The aim is to introduce secondary school pupils to the diversity of research professions and scientific careers in order to encourage them to pursue scientific careers, particularly among female pupils, who are still under-represented in these fields.

About the regional programme

As part of this programme, 140 interventions have already been carried out in 136 secondary schools in the Paris region during the 2023-2025 school years, bringing together 112 researchers, 51% of whom are women. Nearly 7,000 students, 52% of whom are girls, have benefited from this innovative programme.

Of the 140 interventions, 48% took place in the outer suburbs, 43% in the inner suburbs and 9% in Paris. Seventy of the participating secondary schools are located in the New Priority Geography area and 17 are located in rural communities.
