GDR Solar Fuels

The aim of the ‘Solar Fuels’ Research Group is to structure the French community working in the fields of solar fuel production. The production of such fuels or energy carriers from solar energy by photo-catalysis, photoelectrocatalysis, artificial photosynthesis or via a combination of processes is now a fast-growing cross-disciplinary field. It is organised around six research areas and is supported by a consortium of nearly 50 French academic research teams, IFPEN and the EnergieVie (Alsace) and Axelera (Rhône-Alpes) Regional Competitiveness Clusters.

The GDR is led by Valérie Keller (ICPEES Strasbourg) and Murielle Chavarot Kerlidou (LCBM Grenoble), and was renewed on 1 January 2021 for a period of 5 years. The GDR Solar Fuels supports the European SUNERGY initiative (https://www.sunergy-initiative.eu/)
