QUAD

Quantum Physics and Devices

The team aims to develop high-level research with technological and application content. Its activities exploit quantum mechanical concepts, particularly in the field of light-matter interaction, to develop new optoelectronic devices. The main objective is to understand and control new quantum phenomena in low-dimensional materials suitable for “top-down” cleanroom manufacturing (semiconductors, 2D materials, metals and other materials used in nanotechnology processes). The devices produced are in the infrared (3-300 $\m\u$m) and microwave ranges, portions of the electromagnetic spectrum with strong potential for applications and technology transfer. Work is organized in 3 directions – N-body quantum physics – Plasmonics and metamaterials – Photonics and infrared devices. The team is backed by an ENS-THALES Industrial Chair.
