Acoustipoint

métasurface acoustique reconfigurable

The AcoustiPoint project is developing an acoustic metasurface capable of controlling sound waves in real time. Using time-reversal techniques, the system can create independent audio channels, allowing two people in the same room to listen to different audio streams without hearing each other’s content, or generate localized zones of silence.

This innovative technology aims to reduce noise pollution and personalize acoustic experiences in public spaces, transportation systems, and offices. It could also reduce reliance on conventional sound-insulating construction materials.

The AcoustiPoint project is supported by Bpifrance (BPI), was awarded the Grand Prize in the 2025 i-PhD competition, and is supported by the consulting firm STFU and the START program at PC’UP, the incubator of ESPCI Paris – PSL.
