DYNASORP
Investigating Dynamic Sorption Studies on Porous Frameworks
The DYNASORP project seeks to use dynamic vapor sorption (DVS) to study the adsorption mechanisms in porous materials. These materials play a crucial role in CO₂ and VOC capture, dehumidification, thermal energy storage, adsorption-based cooling, heat-pumping technologies or even in energy systems, thus understanding their adsorption properties is particularly important when it comes to evaluate their selectivity or the competitive adsorption of such materials in more realistic conditions.
The project will enable the advanced understanding of adsorption phenomena under non-equilibrium gas/vapor mixtures, the adsorption mechanisms and its associated kinetics, providing insights about the interactions and total adsorption capacities of the studied materials, not only with water, gases and organic vapors, but also multi-component sorption experiments. Moreover, the acquired data on the fundamental understanding of adsorption processes will be used to build consistent theoretical models which will consolidate the deep understanding of these materials and their adsorption properties.
