Advanced Characterization
The methodological axes of the team in connection with MaTerRe are :
- Studies of structure/property relationships by X-ray diffraction (XRD) of :
- materials with potential storage properties (e.g. zeolites)
- molecular complexes or materials with remarkable properties controlled by pressure or temperature stimuli (spin transition, charge transfer, mechanochromism, polymerization, …)
- nano-objects or objects in the early stages of nucleation using the pair distribution function approach
- In situ structural studies by XRD under controlled pressure, temperature and atmosphere of micro-quantities (0.005mm3).
- Combined microdiffraction / X-ray microfluorescence approach.
- Continuity of experiments with Synchrotrons: management of a BAG (Block Allocation Group) on the CRISTAL beamline of SOLEIL synchrotron.
- Structural and chemical study of nanomaterials by (scanning) transmission electron microscopy (S)TEM and by electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), especially at ultra-high energy resolution with the acquisition of a rare instrument: NION HERMES 200keV SX (available at the end of 2024). Development of new instrumentation and experimental methods relying on EELS.
Platforms and equipment
- X-ray Diffraction platform accredited by Sorbonne University and open to the whole community.
- PANAM microscope of PANAM GdS (Sorbonne Université/CNRS/Université Paris Cité) – NION HERMES 200keV SX (available at the end of 2024)
