Understanding the effect of droughts on buildings better

2022 was still marked by an exceptional drought. The total cost of claims on buildings amounts to 2.9 billion euros. In addition, there are significant impacts on geotechnical structures such as roads, railways and embankments, raising many questions about the sustainability of such structures. For twenty years, the “Géotechnique-CERMES” team of the Navier laboratory has been conducting research on the behaviour of these structures under the climatic effects. Read more (french)
