Allowances iMAT 2025

For the year 2025, iMAT will fund 4 PhD contracts.

Before submitting your research projects, it’s essential to consult our Frequently Asked Questions page to find out about our selection criteria and to consult answers to frequently asked questions.

Projects must fall within one of the following two thematic areas:

• Innovative materials for a sustainable society: for example, in the fields of energy, the environment, health…
• Fundamental challenges in materials science: fundamental research to develop and refine our knowledge.

The 2025 call for projects concerns these two themes simultaneously. Projects must be co-sponsored by at least 2 Alliance SU laboratories.

Projects must be written in English: they will first be read and evaluated by members of IMAT‘s international strategic committee.

Provisional timetable

• 20/01/2025 – 26/02/2025: project owners submit their projects on LimeSurvey
• 03/26/2025: announcement of winning 2024 projects and opening of the call for applications
• 03/26/2025 – 05/05/2025: call for applications from future doctoral students
• 05/12/2025 – 06/02/2025: auditions for candidates
