The Saint-Gobain / ESPCI Chaire “Physics and Chemistry of Innovative Materials” organizes a workshop between researchers from both organization on September 24, 2026 at ESPCI Paris – PSL in the IPGG amphitheater. The workshop aims at connecting both communities and leverage mutual activities on “Sustainable construction”, at the core of Saint-Gobain’s strategy.

The program will include several 30-min invited talks given by both ESPCI and Saint-Gobain researchers to highlight new developments and focus area.

Confirmed invited speakers are :

  • Artem Kovalenko (SIMM, ESPCI Paris – PSL) – Flexible materials for switchable radiative cooling
  • Clémence Gaunand, Veneta Grigorova-Moutiers (Institut Langevin et Saint-Gobain) – Multi Scale thermal transport in heterogeneous material
  • Marie Lamblet, Anne-Céline Garel Laurin and Tatiana Severin Fabiani (Saint-Gobain) – Circular economy at Saint-Gobain: challenges and opportunities ; Reuse and Recycling
  • Romain Pierrat (Institut Langevin, ESPCI Paris – PSL) – Control of light emission and propagation in complex media: photon thermalization and disorder correlations
  • Damien Mey and Emmanuel Mimoun (Saint-Gobain Innovation Hub Europe) – Overview of Saint-Gobain Innovation Hub Europe and group organization
  • Corentin Trégouët (CBI, ESPCI Paris – PSL) – Self-organized ionic current loops in ion-exchange membranes under open-circuit conditions
  • Edgar Anies (IMAP, ESPCI Paris PSL et Saint-Gobain) – MOF-polymer proton conductive composite membranes for waterelectrolysis
  • Camille Mayahoui (Saint-Gobain) – Current challenges and research perspectives for improving plasterboards
  • David Richard (PMMH, ESPCI Paris – PSL) – Bridging Microscopic Disorder and Macroscopic Failure in Amorphous Solids
  • Marie Teinturier and Clara Paillard (Saint-Gobain Chryso) – Construction chemistry and admixture challenges

We warmly encourage participants to submit a poster to extend to further connexions and dicussion.

Registration is free but mandatory for ESPCI and Saint-Gobain researchers.

Organizing committee: Philippe Bourrianne (PMMH, ESPCI Paris – PSL), Sandrine Ithurria (LPEM, ESPCI Paris – PSL), Damien Mey (Saint-Gobain Inovation Hub Europe) and Magalie Stab (ESPCI Paris – PSL).
