Working environment
The Institut des Matériaux Poreux de Paris (IMAP) is a joint ENS–ESPCI–CNRS research unit within the PSL University in Paris. IMAP is recognized worldwide for its expertise in the synthesis and characterization of hybrid porous solids such as MOFs, and their applications in the fields of health, energy and the environment. It comprises 8 permanent staff (researchers, engineers and teacher-researchers) and over twenty post-doctoral researchers, PhD students and trainees.
Missions
- Synthesis and characterization of (porous) materials on a chemical synthesis platform ranging from high-throughput to large-scale synthesis (Kg).
- Synthesis and characterization of other types of materials (organic molecules, polymers, inorganic solids, composites, etc.).
Activities
- Participate in the maintenance of IMAP’s synthesis and characterization equipment and shaping facilities.
- Synthesize known molecules or materials at different scales
- Train laboratory members in synthesis and characterization
- Write reports
- Apply and enforce health and safety rules within the laboratory
Skills
- Expertise in chemical synthesis of crystallized solids, with experience in advanced materials characterization if possible.
- Proficiency in standard materials characterization techniques (XRD, IR, ATG, etc.).
- Ability to write scientific reports.
- Good level of English.
