The SPINS project, supported by DIM MaTerRE and led by Jérémy Forté, Régina Maruchenko, and Tom Lacoma, has won the 2026 Outreach Award from the IDF section of the French Chemical Society.

The award ceremony will take place on June 12, 2026, at the Tipi on the Pierre and Marie Curie campus of Sorbonne University during Chemistry Talent Day. The event will also feature booths where science communicators can present their initiatives, as well as a plenary lecture by Claire de March (Institute of Natural Substances Chemistry, Paris Saclay University).

Since 2017, the SCF regional office has been recognizing promising young scientists, selected as Young Talents in Chemistry, following a thorough selection process by the regional office. The office awards thesis prizes, technical prizes, and prizes for science communication. The RJ-SCF, for its part, awards internship prizes.

About the SPINS project:

“The SPINS project involves the design and dissemination of an interactive 3D model of a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectrometer, intended to make a major analytical technique in scientific research accessible to as many people as possible. SPINS offers a simplified yet educational representation of the key steps in an NMR analysis, from sample introduction to signal recording, by combining an interactive model with a digital simulation.”
