BioCoSus
Biodegradable colloidal suspension
The BioCoSus (Biodegradable colloidal suspension) project aims to achieve substantial progress in comprehending adjuvanted colloidal suspensions, which are prevalent in cosmetic, agri-food, and construction material sectors. Presently, optimizing the properties of these materials and mitigating their environmental impact largely depends on empirical methods. By conducting a multi-scale characterization of model suspensions adjuvanted with bio-sourced polymers possessing precisely controlled properties, the acquired knowledge will facilitate a rational approach to formulating environmentally friendlier materials, especially in the construction industry.
The SEC equipment will enable precise analysis of polymer molecular weight distributions, elucidating their role in silica suspension interactions. This enhances understanding of particle contact properties and facilitates optimization of suspension rheology and stability. By accelerating research and development, Navier Laboratory can foster industry collaboration, driving advancements in construction efficiency and materials.
