Co4SyX
Combination Operando four Synchrotron X ray techniques
The Co4SyX project will deliver a transformative multi-technique instrument on the ROCK beamline (EQUIPEX ANR-10-EQPX-45) at the SOLEIL synchrotron, providing unprecedented in situ and operando capabilities for the characterization of energy-relevant materials of the DIM-MaTerRE. By integrating SAXS, WAXS, XRD, and ROCK quick-XAS into a single platform, Co4SyX will enable simultaneous multiscale and multimodal analysis of structural, chemical, and electronic transformations under realistic operating conditions. This comprehensive approach will generate high-value insights into the mechanisms that govern material genesis, performance, durability, and failure, knowledge that is essential for accelerating innovation in next-generation energy technologies, from batteries and catalysts to advanced functional materials.
Beyond its scientific contribution, due to its installation on the French SOLEIL synchrotron, Co4SyX will act as a strategic infrastructure for the DIM-MaTerRE community and the wider national and international research ecosystem. By offering open access to an integrated operando platform unique in Europe, the project will strengthen collaborative research, enhance technological competitiveness, and support the development of sustainable energy solutions with strong societal and industrial impact.
