MALDIHR-MatS
MALDI High Resolution mass spectrometry for Material Sciences
Beyond spectroscopic methods, mass spectrometry (MS) is a tool of choice for the molecular characterization of materials and complex mixtures. The MALDI technique enjoyed a boom in materials analysis over the past 15 years, with the possibility of characterizing both insoluble and soluble fractions on the same equipment.
The MALDIHR-MatS project aims to install a new MALDI MS platform with ultra-high mass resolution (R>500,000) and high spatial resolution in MS imaging mode (~5 μm) to make it available to the research groups of the MaTerRE DIM. The projects include characterization of biomass, of inorganic and metal/organic hybrid complexes (POMs and MOFs) and (bio)-polymers.
