Physics and Mechanics of Heterogeneous Environments - UMR 7636

We study the flowing behavior of dense suspensions. Concentrated suspensions are ubiquitous in numerous usual fluids from cosmetics to food products, or even construction materials. Dense suspensions exhibit a wide range of rheological behaviors. Besides, their ability to resist flows leads to practical challenges in shaping materials. Our research aims to characterize and understand flowing behaviors of dense suspensions to design novel strategies to facilitate the shape morphing of materials based on dense suspensions.
