Contact and Rheology of Colloid-Polymer Suspensions
Adding polymers to a mixture of particles and water, such as concrete, allows to tune its fluidity to facilitate its processing. In order to better understand these systems, we experimentally investigate the links between polymer properties, contact interactions between silica particles and the fluidity of the water-particle mixture. This study will contribute to improve the development of “green” cements in which cement is replaced by much less polluting materials such as silica particles.
