Spectroscopy Platform

The spectroscopy platform meets the needs of a large scientific community coming from various fields such as physics and chemistry of materials, mineralogy, Earth and environmental sciences. Platform hosts several instruments for spectroscopic measurements from the UV to the near IR. It is equipped with Raman, Infrared, Brillouin, UV-visible-NIR spectrometers as well as an electron paramagnetic resonance spectrometer (EPR). Various instrumental developments realized in partnership with the IMPMC researchers and engineers and external collaborators have made available to users some unique possibilities such as the study of materials under extreme conditions pressure and variable temperature (typically, (1-100 GPa) and (from 5 K to ~3000 K))

The axes of the spectroscopy platform carried out in collaboration with IMPMC teams in connection with MaTerRe are : Gas hydrates of H2 and CO2, titanium oxide based superionic conductors, high-energy density metallic nitrides, optimized photovoltaic and thermoelectric materials, new synthesis routes of high-Tc superconducting superhydrides and other advanced materials through static and dynamic compression
