TGF screening-debate “Do we still need to invent materials? – SPRINT Summer Camp 2025

Event Information

Date :June 26 2025
Place :Campus Pierre et Marie Curie, Sorbonne Université

The 3rd SPRINT Summer Camp is being organised this year by Sorbonne University‘s Physics UFR for 40 students in Year 10, from 16 to 27 June 2025 at Sorbonne University’s Pierre and Marie Curie campus. It consists of a series of popularisation lectures, laboratory visits, workshops and practical work on physics.

As part of SPRINT Summer Camp, a TGF screening-debate on ‘Is it still necessary to invent materials?’ will be held on the morning of 26 June and will be presented by Mathilde Laurent-Brocq, researcher at CNRS.

Organised last November, this Tribunal for Future Generations saw scientists and materials experts appear to defend or contest the need to invent new materials. High school students will be able to discover the key elements of the trial… and contribute to a new verdict!
